Poem for the new Age
Hi reader – Yesterday, a magnificent day, I drove back from Wanganui to Wellington in the North Island of New Zealand from checking out another house sit. On top of a hill range I sat in a wide landscape, entranced by the thick silence broken only by birdsong, composing poetry for the new Age. A short Poem for Families Everywhere is below. Easy read! Hope you get to the final verse! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akatarawa_Valley
Akatarawa Hill View from the second scariest road in New Zealand, a sealed one-vehicle width road for two-way traffic, with a cliff one side and a vertical drop the other into subtropical native forest canyons below. A thrilling ride over 30 kilometers with a bend every few metres round which you can’t see oncoming traffic. Sometimes you have to reverse on this road to a space wide enough for two vehicles to pass. Skippers Canyon road near Queenstown is the worst. Private vehicles are not covered by insurance on it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVKDrZFDaEY
21.12.12 To Families Everywhere – Especially Mine
The End of the World is Nigh! cries The Prophet – aka The Media
As we reach the end of the Mayan calendar on this day.
Let’s celebrate the last gasp of the Kali Yuga Age, a mere
thousands of years long, when the baser instincts of man
The Vedic sages called it the Dark Age, now the Dvapara Age begins,
A Time for Mankind to remember who he really is.
Dark, Bronze, Silver and Gold are these Ages, reflected by Man’s brilliance
Or baseness. Let’s welcome the New in the spirit
Of understanding –
To accept, not judge; to allow, not trample on; to listen to the other
With compassion; to expose our gentle side to those who are
Different from us. To love without creating conditions first;
To Be the Good rather than Have it All, because when you let
Your light shine, it allows others to
show you theirs.
And if you can’t do this, just leave the planet quietly will you?
Our children have inherited enough problems. Make their way easier.
Please shut the door after you. Our light is enough.
